LIMITED COMPETITION PARTICIPATION | 2008

The new Primary Care Centre is designed in only one level, in a building that follows carefully the alignments of the plot. It rests on a pediment which contains the car parking area, and moves away from all the surrounding constructions resulting in the enlargement and enhancement of the existing landscaped areas. On Ignasi Iglesias St., the building is set back from the existing alignment, creating a wider pavement at the same time as it allows a good access to Can Bruguera.

The building is designed in only one level for functionality reasons, and it is located in the closest possible area to the old centre of Vilassar de Dalt. The building has a slightly diamond shape of approximately 39 x 34m. The visiting and waiting rooms are placed along two landscaped courtyards which structure the building and fill the interior spaces with natural light.

The morphology of the building has been very closely thought. Since the building is only one storey high, the rooftop becomes a façade for the surrounding constructions. The massive roof extension has been broken down with three roof lights and the courtyards, in such a manner that it can now relate to the scale of the neighbouring constructions.
