This scheme is located in one of the sides of a square block at the edge of the old city extension, looking out onto the new Parc Central. The original planning regulations foresaw the closing of the block with a long building built along a a curve following the train track. The protests of those living in the neighbouring buildings (complaining that this scheme would block their views and sunlight) led to the current layout: three blocks built on top of a commercial pediment, allowing views and sunlight to filter between them. Also, this solution breaks down the otherwise out of scale long building to fit its surrounding constructions. Each building is like a peg opening towards the Parc, the hinge being the stair and lift core which services three units per floor.
